The 21-year-old Paris Saint-Germain academy graduate will pen a four-year deal at Ibrox
Incoming Rangers star Djeidi Gassama is on the brink of being officially unveiled as their seventh summer signing after being snapped in club colours at St George’s Park.
Record Sport revealed the 21-year-old Paris Saint-Germain academy graduate will pen a four-year deal at Ibrox after two eye-catching seasons with Sheffield Wednesday.
And the leaked snap of Gassama in the club’s new red Umbro training top is a blow to Wednesday punters who held out hope that a returning Danny Rohl could tempt the wide man into extending his stay at Hillsborough.
But Gassama appears to already be getting down to work at England’s training centre at St George’s Park where Wednesday are also based this week.
The France U20 cap will join Lyall Cameron, Max Aarons, Joe Rothwell, Emmanuel Fernandez, Thelo Aasgaard and Nasser Djiga at Rangers with Russell Martin pushing the pace ahead of a crunch Champions League qualifier against Panathinaikos later this month.
A goalkeeper is also on Martin’s wanted list with Brighton rising star Carl Rushworth admired with the pair previously working together at Swansea. Any move for a shot stopper will raise further doubt over the future of Jack Butland.
They’re also keen on a number of other wingers and likely to move for a new striker once the futures of Hamza Igamane and Cyriel Dessers are resolved.
