Ducati topped the timesheets at Donington Park with Nicolo Bulega setting the pace for the Italian manufacturer.
On the opening day at the United Kingdom World Superbike Round, it was Nicolo Bulega who set the pace. The Italian rider and the factory Ducati team had a 0.181-second advantage over the field.
It was Danilo Petrucci and the Barni Spark Racing Team that ended the day in second place behind the factory Ducati team.
The top British rider at the end of Friday was Sam Lowes, who ended up in third place on the ELF Marc VDS Racing Team Ducati.
Toprak Razgatlioglu ended the day in fourth place around his favourite track on the calendar. The BMW rider was 0.279 seconds behind his title rival Bulega.
After a promising morning, Garrett Gerloff and the Kawasaki WorldSBK Team backed up their form in the afternoon with a fifth-place finish in Free Practice Two.
Alex Lowes and the bimota by Kawasaki Racing Team topped the top timesheets on Friday morning, but in Free Practice Two, the British rider was in sixth and 0.426 seconds behind Bulega.
Scott Redding and Ryan Vickers were joined together on the timesheets again as the British riders finished seventh and eighth on their Ducatis.
Andrea Locatelli was the top Yamaha rider at the end of the opening day at Donington Park as he finished in ninth place, with fellow Yamaha rider Dominique Aegerter completing the top ten.
Two British riders missed out on the top ten in the afternoon session, with Jonathan Rea in 17th and Tommy Bridewell in 19th.
