Seb Turp, 16, of Gosfield will go for gold in the under-17 category in Botaski, Seseña, near Madrid, Spain next week.

The Colchester Institute student is one of seven Brits taking part at the Europe and Africa Youth Waterski Championships.

They are among 123 athletes from 22 countries who will be going for gold.

Lara Cosgrove (11) of Chalfont St Peter, Buckinghamshire (Just left Berkhamsted Prep and is starting at Berkhamsted Girls’ School, Hertfordshire in September).

Isabel Cosgrove (13) of Chalfont St Peter, Buckinghamshire (Berkhamsted Girls’ School, Hertfordshire).

Buddy Carrington (12), of Brotherton, West Yorkshire (Sherburn High School, Sherburn in Elmet, North Yorkshire).

Under 17s

Harley Coster (15) of Camberley, Surrey (Collingwood College, Camberley).

Seb Turp (16) of Gosfield, Essex (Colchester Institute, Colchester).

Charlie Fearn (15) of Sheffield, South Yorkshire (Bradfield School, Sheffield).

Willow Skipsey (15) of Chichester, West Sussex (Just left Chichester Free School and is starting at Chichester College in September).

Water-skiers compete in the three separate disciplines of slalom, tricks and jump, and the combined scores in each contributing to an overall score.

At last years championships, Seb made the finals in the three events of slalom, tricks and jump, recording personal bests in all three.

He finished in eighth place overall.

Seb has represented the nation at this level on multiple occasions with last year being his best performance to date.

He comes from a long line of water-skiers, including his parents, grandparents and other relatives.

Dad, Vince, is an international boat driver for waterski competitions.
