Wigan Warriors were honoured to celebrate Sir Billy Boston and our Armed Forces at our Betfred Super League clash with Huddersfield Giants.

The Warriors welcomed Sir Billy Boston and his family back to The Brick Community Stadium for the first time since his recent knighthood as part of the King’s Birthday Honours for his services to rugby league and the community.

A spectacular pre-match show saw Sir Billy Boston walk onto The Brick Community Stadium pitch alongside his family and Professor Chris Brookes, where he was joined by his former 1965 Challenge Cup winning teammates Ray Ashby, Colin Clarke and Frankie Parr. As Sir Billy sat on a throne in the middle of the field, Russell Watson performed Abide With Me and Jersusalem.

Alongside our Sir Billy Boston celebrations, Wigan Warriors were delighted to welcome our Armed Forces to Robin Park Arena and The Brick Community Stadium. Personnel from the Royal British Legions, Royal Marines, Royal Navy Cadets, Royal Air Force Cadets and Reeva Programme were proudly welcomed onto the pitch.
