TBR Football can exclusively confirm the latest around the future of Chelsea forward Christopher Nkunku amid interest from other clubs.

Christopher Nkunku has struggled to find his feet with the London side since his £52million move from RB Leipzig in 2023.

Admittedly, Enzo Maresca has given Nkunku a decent amount of game time at the Club World Cup – he has made three starts and has been subbed on a further two times.

However, TBR Football chief correspondent Graeme Bailey insists that Chelsea have not necessarily had a change of heart over Nkunku.

TBR Football understands that both Chelsea and Nkunku both agree that a change of scenery would be best for the player.

“We were told not to read too much into him starting the games at the Club World Cup,” Bailey exclusively told TBR Football.

“He is where he is in terms of the squad – he has good relations with the club and with Enzo Maresca, but they are both accepting that his future lies away from the club.”

TBR Football understands that there are a number of clubs in England and in Europe who like him, but the player considers himself at a certain level.

Manchester United have been keeping tabs on Nkunku, as have West Ham and Fulham, but a move back to Germany looks the most likely at this point.

Which clubs outside of England are keen on Christopher Nkunku

We are told that RB Leipzig would potentially take him back this summer, but as with all the interested parties, Chelsea’s asking price is proving a stumbling block.

The Blues currently want more than £50million for him, and clubs are being put off by the valuation.

The latest club to speak to Nkunku’s camp are former suitors Bayern Munich.

Bayern are considering bringing him in as a replacement for the injured Jamal Musiala.

Indeed, they could try their luck with a loan with option to buy, though Chelsea don’t want that.

“Nkunku and Chelsea have long accepted that a move is needed this summer,” Bailey continued. “Things just haven’t worked out for him at Stamford Bridge.

“Chelsea have brought in others this summer and are moving on. There is interest in England, but as it stands the Bayern interest is interesting to him.

“There is also interest from Turkey and Saudi Arabia I would not discount.”
