Results from the latest national GP patient survey show that 78% of patients expressed overall satisfaction with their GP practice, compared to 77% last year.

Bildeston Health Centre in High Street was rated the best by its patients, who reported a 94% positive experience, with just 1% of people saying the service was very poor.

Framfield House Surgery had a 93% overall positive experience feedback and Debenham Group Practice and Victoria Surgery in Bury St Edmunds, both had a 90% positive experience rating.

Fressingfield Medical Centre, Saxmundham Health Centre and Little St John Street Surgery all had over 90% positive experience, and no patients rated the service as very poor.

At the other end of the list, however, Glemsford Surgery had an overall rating of 61%, with 6% rating the service as very poor.

Cardinal Medical Practice and Burlington Primary Care, both in Ipswich, both had a positive overall experience of 62%, with 12% of patients at Cardinal Medical Practice rating the service as very poor.

29% of patients at Essex University Partnership NHS Trust rated the service as very poor, with 62% reporting a good experience overall.

As a whole, however, patient satisfaction with GP practices, NHS dental and pharmacy services have all increased this year compared to last.

88% of patients expressed overall satisfaction with pharmacy services and 68% expressed overall satisfaction with NHS dental services, compared to 63% last year.

10,624 patients in the Suffolk and North East Essex Integrated Care System area completed the survey.

“It is well known that the NHS is under a lot of pressure right now, yet this patient feedback shows that those services remain resilient, and staff continue to work hard to do all they can for patients.

“Of particular note are the results for NHS dental services. While there is obviously still some way to go, it is important to recognise the hard work that is being done to bring about improvement and acknowledge these increased rates of satisfaction.”
