Coronation Street stars Lucy Fallon, Elle Mulvaney and Andy Whyment were among the celebrities in the crowd at Oasis’ homecoming gig in Heaton Park on Friday.

Lucy, who plays Bethany Platt in the ITV soap, posted photos on her Instagram stories of her and boyfriend Ryan Ledson enjoying the gig. The actress embraced the signature Oasis look with a leopard print bucket hat.

She shared the caption: “At the back but the best night of my literal entire life” and wrote on her stories: “What a dream to see Oasis [live].”

It wasn’t just Coronation Street stars celebrating Oasis homecoming gig. Former professional boxer Ricky Hatton shared a snap of him and Noel Gallagher – and it looks like Noel sorted out his tickets.

He wrote the caption: “Great night watching @oasis tonight. Thanks to @themightyi for the tickets. Smashed it again boys.”

BBC Radio 2 presenter Vernon Kay posted a video singing along to Live Forever, donning a bucket hat and shades as he spun the camera around to show the crowds and the stage.

He captioned it: “Manchester! Day1 @oasis the excellence continues! Bravo!!”

Vernon also shut down any suggestions that he was gifted free tickets for this gig and the Cardiff gig. One user commented “How did Vernon get so many tickets? Cardiff now Manchester!!” Vernon replied simply: “Paid for them!!”.

Oasis took to the stage at Heaton Park on Friday night (July 11) in the first of their five Manchester dates as part of their reunion tour.

Prior to their opening shows in Cardiff at the start of July 2025, the last time Oasis played together was at V Festival in August 2009.

Oasis formed in Manchester in 1991, going on to become one of the defining bands of the Britpop era and one of the biggest and most influential bands in the world with seven albums across a two decade period.

But the challenging relationship between the two brothers resulted in the band breaking up in 2009, leaving fans unsure if they would ever perform together again – until now.
