Catherine, Princess of Wales, better known as Kate Middleton, just made an adorable comment about Prince Louis, which shows how her public parenting approach may be changing.
Earlier this week, Kate attended an exhibit of items from the Royal Collection at Windsor Castle. Specifically, she made a comment towards a portrait of a young King Louis XIV, who ruled France from 1643 to 1715.
She jokingly compared her seven-year-old to King Louis XIV, saying, “I should know,” per Hello.

It was a tongue‑in‑cheek double meaning, referring to how she “knows” Louis. But we love this cheeky comment because it shows a turn in how Kate talks about her kids. While she usually keeps details private, or formal, this shows a casual change in her approachl which we love.

For those who don’t know, William and Kate have been together on and off since 2003. Since their nuptials, they have since welcomed three children named Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, 10, and Louis, 7.
In a previous podcast episode of Happy Mum, Happy Baby, hosted by Giovanna Fletcher, via Town and Country, Kate talked about how she incorporates her family traditions into her parenting.
“I had an amazing Granny who devoted a lot of time to us—playing with us, doing arts and crafts, and going to the greenhouse to do gardening, and cooking with us—and I try and incorporate a lot of the experiences that she gave us at the time into the experiences that I give my children now,” she said.
