There aren’t many members of the Royal Family that Prince Harry isn’t feuding with. According to reports, his father King Charles refuses to speak to him and his brother Prince William is “fuming” over Harry’s trip to Ukraine and potentially plotting to strip Harry and Meghan of their royal titles. One family member he’s not feuding with? Princess Eugenie, who remains close to Prince Harry despite rumors of a rift.
Last week, it was reported that Harry had cut Eugenie, his cousin, out of his life after she was photographed with Piers Morgan—a longtime critic (and, frankly, bully) of Harry’s and Meghan Markle’s. Piers himself confirmed the news on his show Piers Morgan Uncensored. “Well, that was because of me, actually—the Eugenie thing—because she was with me and a group of other people in a pub in London. I was seen hugging them goodbye, and Harry saw this and went completely ballistic,” he said. “And I can confirm—breaking news—that this is entirely true.”
Well, breaking news: Piers appears to be totally incorrect. “The Duke remains close to Princess Eugenie,” a source told People. “They always have and always will be.” In fact, Eugenie has been the most high-profile member of the Royal Family to support Harry and Meghan in their decision to step back from life as working royals. She was even seen in home video footage incorporated in their Netflix docuseries, Harry & Meghan, visiting the couple in their new California home.
Both Harry and Eugenie have kids around the same age—Harry and Meghan, of course, share son Archie, 5, and daughter Lilibet, 3, while Eugenie and husband Jack Brooksbank have two sons, August, 4, and Ernest, 22 months. And People reports that Harry and Meghan recently purchased a home in Portugal, where Eugenie and her family live part-time. It doesn’t exactly sound like something estranged family members would do!
Meanwhile, Prince Harry’s life isn’t all consumed by family drama and legal battles. Speaking to People in an exclusive interview, he opened up about watching Meghan launch her new brand, As Ever. “I am so happy for my wife and fully support absolutely everything she’s done and continues to do,” he said. “I’m incredibly proud.”
