Vernon Kay has told his fans to ‘rave on’ as he soaked in a second Manchester gig after receiving backlash over attending Oasis’ first Heaton Park concert.

The self-proclaimed Oasis superfan joined the likes of Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola, 1975 singer Matty Healy and a host of Coronation Street stars on Friday (July 11).

Wearing a bucket hat, a pair of shades and a New York Cosmo’s shirt, Vernon was among the 80,000 people in attendance.

Amid the roasting temperatures, the TV presenter and BBC Radio 2 belted hit songs such as Live Forever, Wonderwall and Champagne Supernova with the Gallagher brothers.

The Heaton Park homecoming marked not only Liam and Noel’s return to Manchester, but Vernon’s second time seeing them in two weeks, having gone to the reunion tour’s opening night at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium

A number of people in the comments section of an Instagram he posted raised questions on how he managed to snap up more tickets to shows.

@lfcarbz asked: “How did Vernon get so many tickets? Cardiff now Manchester!” To which Vernon replied: “Paid for them!!”

@bradshaw198 stated: “How did you get to go again. Lucky.” @gprice1959 replied: “Probs free tickets they all get them.”

This reply led Vernon to bluntly clarify how he got the tickets, saying: “There are no free Tix. Or guest list. Paid for mine….”

Returning to his Instagram on Saturday (July 12), Vernon revealed that he stayed in Manchester for the weekend to attend the Henley Festival.

Sporting a white shirt, dickie bow and shades for the occasion, The One Show host watched club musicians Hacienda Classical, who are led by Graeme Park.

Posting a video from the gig, Vernon said: “@fac51thehaciendaofficial @graemepark What a superb night @henleyfestival !! B2B Manchester icons in two days!

“(And for those who are gonna get the wet wipes out, our dear friend Mr.Park who we’ve admired since ‘89!! Sorted us out!) Rave on Brothers and Sisters!! Nothing but [heart emojis].”

The comments section of Vernon’s post saw his friends and fans having their say on his latest adventure and wishing him well.
