A collision has led to huge tailbacks on the M8 in Edinburgh as drivers were warned to ‘approach with caution’.

The incident was first reported at around 3.45pm at the Hermiston Gait roundabout. The A71 was ‘partially blocked’ due to the collision.

The condition of those involved is not currently known but motorists have been warned of ‘longer than normal’ journey times.

Traffic Scotland said: “The M8 Hermiston Gait roundabout leading to the A720 and the A71 is partially blocked, due to a road traffic incident.

“Motorists are advised to approach with caution and expect longer than normal journey times.”

Police Scotland has been asked for comment.
