West Ham are yet to make a signing this summer.

Graham Potter is still awaiting his first recruit of the window, but should now have some extra cash to play with after West Ham sold Mohammed Kudus to Tottenham in a £55m deal.

There has already been a sign of this fee going straight into the transfer kitty, as the Guardian believe West Ham are now close to signing El Hadji Malick Diouf from Slavia Prague in a £22m deal – rising to £27m.

The Hammers are not putting their feet up by any means after striking a deal for the Senegal international, with West Ham now optimistic of signing Harvey Elliott from Liverpool too.

West Ham feel Harvey Elliott deal is possible

The Guardian add in their story regarding Diouf – who Crystal Palace wanted – that West Ham are confident of signing the Liverpool No.19 this summer.

It is said that a formal approach for Elliott – who TBR Football understand Liverpool value at £50m – is yet to be made, but West Ham are preparing themselves to make a concrete move for the England U21 international.

RB Leipzig are also keen to sign the 22-year-old.

What Harvey Elliott has already said about possible Liverpool exit

The Fulham academy graduate only made two Premier League starts under Arne Slot last season, and he has understandably opened the door to an exit from Anfield as a result.

Elliott said he could leave Liverpool when speaking to Hayters TV, admitting: “I think it’s just a situation that me and the team on my behalf have to have a conversation about.

“I’m coming into an age now where I’m going to be 23 next season, and you know I don’t really want to be wasting years of my career because it’s a short career. You don’t know what’s going to happen like injuries and things.

“I just want to improve and be the best possible version of myself and the best player I can be…and if that’s to go somewhere else, then you know, it’s a decision that I’m going to have to make.”

After an interview like this, it is no wonder West Ham feel confident of signing Elliott.
