A hot and sunny day, only the first signs of a change occurring overnight
Good morning,
Sun yet again this morning for most, though the west of Ireland will wake up to some clouds, these brought by a cold front gradually making its way towards Ireland. Though the day, cloud will thicken across much of Ireland and spells of rain will arrive from the southwest. Rain will be increasingly frequent through the afternoon with increasing risk of heavy spells as well – possibly an odd flash of lightning! Still warm here with highs reaching 30C in central Ireland, nearer 26 to 27C elsewhere.
Britain will have a sunnier day with patchy cloud slowly building in. Later in the day, patchy showery rain arrives into southwest Scotland/northwest England, as well as southwest England. Cloud will be more extensive around showers but still largely bright for most well into the day, possibly all the way until evening.
Overnight, the fronts over Ireland will strengthen and drop regular heavy bursts, some of which will stretch into southern Scotland and north England. The south of England will likely see some showery bursts as well, though these weaker and less frequent.
A welcome break from incessant hot sun is on the way!
-Dan
