A street in Edinburgh has been locked down and the bomb squad are on the scene after a suspicious item was discovered.

Cops raced to Loganlea Gardens at around 5pm on April 16 after reports of the potentially suspicious item.

The Explosive Ordnance Disposal team were called in and remain at the scene with a cordon in place.

Locals in the surrounding streets have been asked to stay inside with their windows closed.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “Officers are in attendance at Loganlea Gardens in Craigentinny following a report of a potentially suspicious item around 4.55pm on Wednesday, 16 April, 2025.

“EOD has been contacted and a cordon has been put in place.

“Residents in Loganlea Gardens, Loganlea Place and Loganlea Drive are advised to keep their windows shut and remain in their homes.

“The public is asked to avoid the area.”
