The South Korean international has reportedly signalled his intention to leave the Scottish champions this summer, alerting a host of clubs in England and across Europe.

Polish side Legia Warsaw have already made an enquiry to sign the 23-year-old as Celtic weigh up whether to allow him to depart this summer.

Sky Sports are reporting that Yang is one of a number of wingers under consideration by the Canaries, who will now step up their search for reinforcements after Sainz’s £14.25m move to the 30-time Portuguese giants was confirmed.

The winger, who joined Celtic in the summer of 2023 for around £2million from Gangwon FC, has three years left remaining on his current contract at the club.

Yang recorded 12 goal contributions in 34 matches for Celtic in all competitions last season, but Brendan Rodgers side have moved to sign two wingers in Benjamin Nygren from Nordsjaelland and Callum Osmand from Fulham in this window.

Metz winger Pape Diallo is another wide target for City this summer, but Watford are at a more advanced stage and any deal is thought to be tough owing to his work permit situation.

Diallo, 21, wouldn’t obtain a GBE until he plays in Ligue 1, which kicks off next month, so any transfer could be put on hold until then.

Norwich are also considering other options and are targeting two wide men this summer with a Premier League loan another potential recruitment avenue.

City boss Liam Manning confirmed that they were targeting more reinforcements in this window despite an early burst that has seen them sign seven players at senior level.

“It’s constant. We’re working hard behind the scenes to add, and there’s still a few faces I think we need to add, and we will add,” he said. “We’ll keep pushing on that and make the squad as strong as we can.

“When you look at the calibre we’ve been able to add, it says it all, but also the experience. If you look probably last summer there was a transition with elements of the team.

“That was always the plan, but if you look now what we’ve been able to add, with the two centre backs, in terms of the number of games they’ve had between them, it shows you that is a different approach.“
