Oblivion Remastered PS5 Physical

News of an Oblivion Remastered PS5 physical edition has been made public by UK retailers, with The Game Collection confirming pre-orders for boxed copies will go live today ahead of a release in October 2025.

In response to multiple fan queries, the website does not have information on whether the RPG will be complete on the PS5 disc, or if it’ll require a download. This has been a large concern amongst PlayStation fans recently, as Xbox ports Indiana Jones and the Great Circle and DOOM: The Dark Ages contained hardly any of their data on the actual discs.

Since its digital PS5 launch in April, a handful of patches have been released for Oblivion Remastered to iron out issues that made the game worse the longer you played. Update 1.2 is in beta now on PC and should come to PS5 soon as well. If the entire game is indeed on the PS5 disc, you’d like to think it’ll be on the most updated version.

In our Oblivion Remastered PS5 review, we awarded a 7/10 rating and said: “Performance issues and tedious design elements aside, Virtuos and Bethesda deserve real credit for bringing Oblivion back in such a way that doesn’t detract from the original vision, and the meme-worthy identity that it’s fostered over the years. This is, arguably, the definitive Oblivion experience — or at least it will be, once the awkward wrinkles have been ironed out.”

The digital version costs £49.99 / $49.99, so the physical edition should be similarly priced. Have you been waiting for a physical version to come along? Let us know in the comments below.
