The young Scot is the second person to perform the iconic role after Daniel Radcliffe first appeared on cinema screens as the boy who lived in 2001.

Dominic has been photographed dressed in Harry’s Hogwarts uniform, including robe and Gryffindor knitted jumper.

The schoolboy was also pictured wearing the Boy Who Lived’s famous round glasses and the iconic lightning bolt scar on his forehead as he held a clapperboard.

Filming has kicked off this week at Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden in Watford, Hertfordshire.

The production, based on JK Rowling’s beloved kids books, will run for around 10 years and is expected to air on HBO and HBO Max in 2027.

More than 32,000 children auditioned for the lead roles in the new series.

Dominic, who studied at Performance Academy Scotland, has already appeared in a stage adaptation of William Shakespeare’s Macbeth.

He performed in the production alongside acting icon Ralph Fiennes, 62, who portrayed Voldemort in the films.

Arabella Stanton Alastair Stout will play Harry’s friends Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley respectively.

New roles have also been announced, with Rory Wilmot as Neville Longbottom, Amos Kitson as Dudley Dursley, Louise Brealey as Madam Rolanda Hooch, and Anton Lesser as Garrick Ollivander.
