Sheffield Wednesday have come under fresh criticism as Dejphon Chansiri’s failing ownership continues to damage the Championship club.
The Owls are set for a difficult week as players who have not been paid by Chansiri for two consecutive months can leave Hillsborough on a free transfer on Tuesday, 15 July, if they have handed in their 15-day notice period.
Amid the South Yorkshire outfit’s ongoing financial struggles, there has been plenty of scrutiny regarding boss Danny Rohl.
Meanwhile, one of last season’s key men, Anthony Musaba, left Sheffield Wednesday to join Turkish side Samsunspor.

While Chansiri has continually failed to meet his wage obligations, Rohl has been linked with a Sheffield Wednesday exit.
Consequently, the German has missed the Owls’ pre-season training sessions for the last two weeks, leaving assistant Henrik Pedersen in makeshift charge.

But in yet another twist at Sheffield Wednesday, Rohl resumed his training responsibilities on Monday, 14 July.
BBC Radio Sheffield’s Rob Staton reported via X on 14 July: “Understand Danny Rohl is back in Sheffield and is expected to take training today at Sheffield Wednesday.”
The Sheffield Star’s Joe Crann quoted the post and added: “The lack of leadership at SWFC currently is criminal. This is going to be fascinating.”

Speaking on Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast, former Leeds United goalkeeper Paul Robinson outlined that Rangers are well placed to sign Josh Windass.
The attacking midfielder was the star man for Rohl’s men last season, scoring 13 goals and producing five assists in 44 Championship appearances.
He could once again become a strong asset for the Ibrox giants, having featured for them in both the 2016/17 and 2017/18 seasons before he joined Wigan Athletic, and subsequently Wednesday.
Meanwhile, talkSPORT’s chief football correspondent reported via X on 14 July: “Leicester City among the clubs showing interest in Max Lowe, who is thought to be one of the SWFC players available on a free transfer due to unpaid wages.
“Lowe has twice been promoted twice to the Premier League with Sheffield United and Nottingham Forest.”
As alluded to by Crook, the defender boasts rich experience in the Championship, so his departure would come as a major blow to Rohl and the Owls.
