Terrifying video footage has shown the moment a gang of “knife wielding youths” threatened to stab a group of people in Edinburgh.

The shocking incident took place in broad daylight at a bus stop on St Patrick Square on Saturday, July 12. In the footage, one male youth was filmed squaring up to an older man on the street.

As the man and woman filming the scene got closer, the youngster – who was covering his face – held up his middle finger before pulling out what is understood to have been a knife.

He can be heard shouting in the clip, which was shared with our sister title, Edinburgh Live: “What are you saying mate? Have you got a f*****g problem?””

As the man was apparently unfazed by his threats, the youth was then heard telling them: “I’ll stab both of you.”

A second balaclava-clad kid wearing a black cap was then filmed running towards the group before attempting to grab the phone from the woman’s hands as she filmed the sickening scene on her phone.

He then went to rummage his pockets before backing off while the group refused to be intimidated.

The two males then continued to walk towards the group as the woman threatened to call the police.

A member of the group then ran towards one of the youths while shouting “f**k off.”

A blade is then pulled out by the youngster in retaliation before both of them turn around and walk off.

Members of the public were spotted watching on as the terrifying incident unfolded.
