A man who subject multiple women to “prolonged periods” of abuse over a decade has been jailed for 10 years. Denis Johnstone was convicted of sexual and violent offences in the Falkirk area.
The 39-year-old carried out the atrocious attacks between 2011 and 2023, against three women. Police commended the victim’s bravery for speaking out against the abuser.
He was handed a prison sentence at the High Court in Edinburgh on Wednesday, April 16, having previously been found guilty at the same court on Wednesday, February 26.

Detective Sergeant Graeme Heeps of the Forth Valley Public Protection Unit said: “Johnstone is a violent and abusive individual who subjected the women to a prolonged period of abuse and showed complete disregard to the impact his crimes would have on them.
“We acknowledge how difficult these enquiries can be for individuals who have been subjected to sexual abuse, and I would like to commend the assistance provided during this investigation. I hope this outcome provides those exposed to his abuse, with some sense of closure.
