Huge crowds of Oasis fans have been seen dancing in the streets outside Heaton Park as the band play their third homecoming show in Manchester.
The band are continuing their five-night run of shows here in the city this evening, with a further two shows set to take place this weekend. As is the case throughout Manchester, a number of venues, including pubs and bars, near to the park have been hosting Oasis-themed events during the shows.
Pubs including The Ostrich and The Woodthorpe have been hosting all-day Oasis festivals, with fans getting to enjoy live music and the festivities of the day before, during and after each gig.
Fans were seen dancing and singing along to each song on the Live ‘25 set list, listening from Bury New Road – which is situated opposite the West Gate entrance to the concert.
Whilst fans were warned by Manchester Council not to head to Heaton Park if they didn’t have a ticket, some people still gathered at the nearby ‘Gallagher’s Hill’ despite it being fenced off to block off views of the stage.

A number of colourful flares were also set off in the separate space, whilst people sat in deck chairs and enjoyed picnics together.
Fans Ellie and Ethan had differing opinions on the barriers that have been installed. Ellie, who didn’t get tickets to the concerts, said: “I’m not bothered [about the fences]. Those people paid for their tickets so they should see it.”
Ethan, who was at Friday’s show and returned to camp out at the gathering spot this evening added: “It’s rubbish, nobody was doing any harm.

Meanwhile, fans Roy, Rob and Mark felt a bit more strongly about the situation.. Mark, who is local to the area but will be watching Oasis when they play in London, said: “It’s a load of boll***s. They’re killjoys.”
Manchester Council said it had erected fences earlier this week as part of ‘additional measures’ which had been ‘deemed necessary’ around the perimeter of the vast parkland.
The statement said: “After taking stock of how the first two nights went, additional measures have now been deemed necessary and will be in place for the next three Oasis concerts, to protect the environment of the park, ensure areas of parkland and nearby livestock are protected, and maintain public safety.”

The council added: “The erection of the fencing has a dual purpose – both to protect the environment from further damage and to dissuade people from gathering there. The necessary measure means the concert will no longer be visible from this area.”
Oasis will continue their shows at Heaton Park on Saturday and Sunday (July 19 and 20).
