Penguin Random House Australia (PRH) has acquired Dear Campus Cupid by Aurelne Thian, in a two-book deal brokered by Danielle Binks from Jacinta di Mase Management.
According to the publisher, Dear Campus Cupid is full of ‘self-discovery and second chances’ – a romance story reminiscent of Jenny Han’s To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before and ‘all the misunderstandings and miscommunications of a modern-day Pride and Prejudice’.
Thian is an emerging young adult romance author based in Perth.
She said, ‘I’ve kept so many words folded away in the quiet corners of my heart for most of my life – and yet, right now, I can’t seem to find any that fully capture what I’m feeling. I’m so unbelievably grateful to Danielle and the Jacinta di Mase Agency for championing Dear Campus Cupid, and to Lisa at Penguin Random House for seeing the heart of this story—the love letters, the longing, the quiet hopes—and saying yes. And, to my Mama dearest, thank you for bearing with me to talk about this moment unfailingly every single day for years and years now (ask her, she’d laugh). I’m still pinching myself.’
PRH publisher Lisa Riley said, ‘Dear Campus Cupid is the love letter you long to read, with all the intense yearning of a K-drama and characters to fall in love with. Readers who love Jenny Han and the sweet romance of Ann Liang’s books will adore this new series from Aurelne.’
PRH plans to release Dear Campus Cupid in 2026.
