Hanuman Chalisa in UK parliament
The verses of Hanuman Chalisa were recited inside the UK Parliament House during a recent visit of Pandit Dhirendra Krishna Shastri of Bageshwar Dham. This is the first time that Hanuman Chalisa was recited in the parliament of the UK.
The video of people singing the verses together was shared by Bageshwar Dham’s X handle. Several people, officials and lawmakers were seen reciting the verses with their eyes closed in the presence of Pandit Dhirendra Krishna Shastri.
“For the first time in the history of London’s Parliament… Shri Hanuman Chalisa recitation by the revered government… All guests present in the Parliament recited with devotion…,” Bageshwar Dham said in the X post.
Reportedly, this is the first time that an Indian religious text has been recited in the British Parliament.
In the video, Pandit Dhirendra Shashtri was seen wearing a saffron attire, leading the chants as those present there followed him and recited Hanuman Chalisa.
The visit comes amid Dhirendra Shastri’s ongoing international outreach, which includes several spiritual events and discourses in Australia, the US, and Europe.
