A man has been rushed to hospital following an incident in Glasgow that left a residential street under heavy police presence.

Emergency services were called to Cornalee Gardens in the Pollok area of the city at around 3.45pm on Wednesday, July 16, after a 38-year-old man was found injured.

He was rushed to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment. His current condition has not been confirmed.

A police cordon remains in place at the scene, with officers standing guard. It is understood that residents are being asked to sign in and out as they enter or leave their homes.

A 43-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident. Police enquiries remain ongoing into the incident.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “Around 3.45pm on Wednesday, 16 July, 2025, police received a report a man had been injured on Cornalee Gardens, Pollok, Glasgow. Emergency services attended and the 38-year-old was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.

“A 43-year-old man has been arrested and enquiries are ongoing.”

Residents are being urged to remain patient as officers continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
