Arsenal knocked out Real Madrid in the Bernabeu
Arsenal are into the Champions League semi-finals, where they will play PSG, after seeing off Real Madrid in the last eight tie. The Spanish side, who were the holders, were dumped out by the Premier League outfit.
The Gunners headed to Madrid boasting a 3-0 lead from the first-leg and completed the job in Spain. They were able to contain Los Blancos as Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli helped them win on the night, securing Arsenal a 5-1 win on aggregate.
Their reward is a tie against PSG, who many people have tipped to go all the way with Luis Enrique’s side peaking at the right time. So far the French side have enjoyed playing against English opposition – seeing off Liverpool in the last 16 and then overcoming Aston Villa in the quarters.
Arsenal have already beaten PSG this season, downing them 2-0 at the Emirates, but the French side are now a very different proposition as they look to make just the second Champions League final in their history.
It is the same scenario for Arsenal, whose only appearance in the showpiece event came back in 2006. On that occasion they lost to Barcelona at the Stade de France in Paris.

Barcelona find themselves on the other side of the draw. The Catalans boast the best attack in this season’s Champions League and saw off Borussia Dortmund in their last eight tie. They won 5-3 on aggregate as Hansi Flick looks to land the trophy with a second different club.
The La Liga leaders, who still hold hopes of winning the treble, will face Inter Milan in their semi-final. The Italians have continued to go under the radar but knocked out Bayern Munich in their last eight tie. They won in Germany and then drew back at the San Siro.

Inter made the final two years ago, losing to Manchester City, but are attempting to replicate the success of 2010, when Jose Mourinho was in charge. They will renew their rivalry with Barcelona, who they ironically beat in the last four when they did win the Champions League.
All eyes will be on the final in Munich will the showpiece event taking place on May 31. The Allianz Arena hosted its one and only Champions League final back in 2012, when Chelsea secured their first triumph by beating the German giants in their own stadium.
