Local residents have warned of a “suspicious male” in a North Wales village. People living in Sychdyn, near Mold, Flintshire, have been contacting police and posting on social media in relation to a number of alleged incidents.
North Wales Police have said they are looking into these reports. But they warned people not to speculate over the identity of the person.
They added that one person being named is actually currently in jail.

North Wales Police said: “We are aware of a number of incidents being reported involving a suspicious male in the Sychdyn area.
“Whilst our officers are looking into these incidents we would ask, again, that people refrain from placing people’s names and photographs onto social media – not only can this cause issues around future prosecutions and jeopardise cases but it can also lead to the unnecessary persecution of innocent members of the public and their families.”
They said they “understand the concerns” around an individual whose name is currently being circulated but said this man is “currently residing at His Majesty’s pleasure”.
They added: “If you have information to offer please send it to us in the first place or report it directly to our control room.” Join the North Wales Live Whatsapp community now
