Sheffield Wednesday supporters are continuing to endure hardship under the failing ownership of Dejphon Chansiri.

The Championship club are enduring a period of great uncertainty, as Chansiri has failed to pay staff and player wages on time for two consecutive months.

Thanks to the Thai businessman’s financial mismanagement, the Owls find themselves under a transfer embargo, and players who have not received any payment since April can leave the South Yorkshire side for free, subject to a 15-day notice period.

Amid the Owls’ turmoil, Football Insider have exclusively revealed that Sheffield Wednesday star Josh Windass won his appeal over handing in his notice at Hillsborough.

Amid the news that Windass is set to leave on a free transfer, Djeidi Gassama has already joined Rangers from Sheffield Wednesday.

The Wednesday faithful are understandably growing impatient with Chansiri’s ownership, as they continue to witness high-profile departures.

Wednesday are set for a tough Championship season

However, the Owls faithful could rightfully be sceptical about those comments, as the Hillsborough outfit recently failed to complete the building work at their training ground in time for the beginning of pre-season, as reported by the Sheffield Star on 23 June.

Chansiri is currently struggling to meet his basic priorities, such as paying staff and players on time, so fans should not hold out much hope that their North Stand will be repaired promptly.

Meanwhile, even though Sheffield Wednesday boss Danny Rohl returned to training on Monday, 14 July, following a two-week absence, talkSPORT’s chief football correspondent, Alex Crook, reported via X on Thursday, 17 July, that doubts remained over the German’s future.

Amid the ongoing struggles at Hillsborough, supporters must fear that an unwanted League One return beckons for their side.
