This is the most up to date list of roadworks, road closure and events leading to road closures or diversions for traffic in Edinburgh which drivers, pedestrians, wheelchair users and cyclists can expect to encounter for the next week or so.
In one case however a section of footpath on London Road will be closed for two and a half years. This is not the longest in the city however – Craighall Road between Craighall Avenue and Grandville will be closed until May 2028.
- New roadworks include temporary traffic lights on Baird Road and Harvest Road on Monday 21 July to allow for “remedial works.
- Scottish Water will install 4-way temporary traffic light on Winton Drive on 22 and 23 July
- Clark Contracts will carry out work at Jock’s Lodge on London Road from 1 September onwards which will mean a section of the north footway and the cycle lane will be closed – until December 2027
- Cityfibre will be clearing blocked cable ducts on Viewforth for about a week
- Resurfacing work on the A71 is being carried out between Bonnington Road and Dalmahoy Road until 24 July
If you see anything on the roads which is not on the list then let the travel team know on Twitter @EdinTravel or otherwise you can check on the Scottish Roadworks register which is a comprehensive list of places to avoid.
