Manny Pacquiao is looking to stage a remarkable comeback when he takes on Mario Barrios this weekend.

The Filipino boxing icon returns to the sport at the age of 46 to challenge Barrios for his WBC welterweight title at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

It sees Pacquiao competing in his first fight for nearly four years, having not been in the ring professionally since losing a WBA welterweight title fight to Yordenis Ugas back in August 2021.

Should ‘Pac-Man’ be victorious on Saturday, he will break his own record as the oldest welterweight world champion of all time, something he set himself back on 2019 when he defeated Keith Thurman at the age of 40.

Some boxing fans have already began to speculate what could be next for Pacquiao if he can claim a win on Saturday, with a rematch against former foe Floyd Mayweather suggested as one possible option.

Pacquiao’s advisor Sean Gibbons has now discussed what the future could hold, telling FightHype that while Mayweather could be possible, he sees two other names as more likely targets.

“I don’t want to look past the 19th because that’s everything. But if he did [beat Barrios], Mayweather is retired and 49, I don’t think Floyd with what skills he last left , I don’t think him and Manny match up properly.

“Gervonta Davis, Rolly Romero has the WBA belt. Everything is on the table. Those are questions you need to ask Floyd Mayweather. Manny Pacquiao is open to do anything.”

Pacquiao has previously spoken of his desire to have a fight with WBA lightweight champion Davis, but will first have full attention on his showdown with Barrios this weekend.
