Here’s a roundup of some the main events taking place over the coming week in South Leeds. For full listings go over to our What’s On calendar here.

We start this week in Holbeck with Pyramid’s Art Market, which takes place at their base at Unit 3, 18 Croydon Street, LS11 9RT. Running from 10:30am-2pm, the market features stalls from partner organisation and a chance to try your at hand family-friendly creative activities.

Middleton Elderly Aid are holding a Summer Fair at their social centre on Acre Road, LS10 4LF, from 10am-2pm on Saturday.

Down at Leeds Dock they are holding another Makers’ Market at Fearns on the Boulevard, LS10 1PZ. Discover handmade lino prints, eco-conscious skincare, bespoke illustrations, botanical art and recycled silver jewellery – plus so much more! It’s a treasure trove of fresh discoveries and one-of-a-kind pieces – perfect for a relaxed weekend browse. 10am-4pm.

St Cross Church in Middleton (LS10 4HT) is holding its Summer Fair on Saturday 11am-2pm. There will be a tombola, raffle, refreshments, cake stall and more.

Then from 1-4pm it’s the Belle Isle Repair Café at BITMO’s GATE, LS10 3QH. This month the fixers, stitchers and kitchen knife sharpeners will be joined by bike fixers to help you get ready for summer (under 16s must be accompanied by an adult). As usual tea and toasties will be on offer and at 3pm there will be a session to discuss what went well at Belle Isle Gala.

Hunslet ARLFC entertain Lock Lane on Saturday afternoon at The Oval, opposite Morrisons. Kick off is at 2:30pm.

On Saturday evening, 6-9pm, the Round Foundry Art Show opens its doors at the Dry Sand Foundry building at 103 Water Lane, LS11 5WD.

At this week’s Bands in the Park ‘Amici’ perform singalong covers from the 1960s onwards in Cross Flatts Park on Sunday afternoon. Plus it’s the 20th Annual Beeston Dog Show. There are Pedigree and Fun categories, but who will be Best in Show? There is a charge of £3 for each class you enter your dog in. Entries on the day from 1:30pm, judging starts at 2:30pm.

On Wednesday Breeze in the Park starts its citywide tour at Coopers Field in Belle Isle. The session runs for 12-4pm, Tickets cost £1 per child from www.breezeleeds.org.

On Friday residents of Beeston & Holbeck ward can meet their Councillors at the monthly surgeries: 4pm at Beeston Library on Town Street; 5pm at St Matthew’s Community Centre in Holbeck; and 6pm at Cottingley Community Centre.

And finally, Slung Low Shorts is back after a 5 year hiatus with 6 brand new plays. And, as ever, there’s something for everyone. Including (but not limited to) shadowy conspiracies, Westminster satire, a superannuated detective and even a wedding. Join us for a night of fast but fantastic theatre. The first show is on Friday at 7pm; and continues on Saturday at 3pm and 7pm; and Sunday at 5pm. Pay-what-you-decide. Book at www.slunglow.org/shows.
