A body has been found in the search for a man reported missing from West Lothian nearly a week ago.
The body of a man was discovered by police at Almond Valley Bridge in Livingston at around 2.40pm on Friday.
Identificiation is yet to take place but the family of Alan Niven, who was last seen on July 12, have been informed. Cops are currently treating the death as unexplained.
The 54-year-old was last seen in Tweed Drive, in the Craigshill area of Livingston, in the early hours of Saturday.

One possible sighting was later reported, after a man wearing a blue t-shirt, dark trousers and carrying a white bag was seen in Tweed Drive on Sunday morning but sadly it was not Alan.

A spokesperson for the Force said: “Around 2.40pm on Friday, 18 July, 2025, the body of a man was found in the area of Almond Valley Bridge, Livingston.
“Formal identification is yet to take place, however the family of Alan Niven, who was reported missing from Livingston on Monday, 14 July, 2025, has been informed.
“The death is being treated as unexplained and enquiries are ongoing. A report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal in due course.”
