Armed police descended on a street after a man threatened two other men with a gun. Merseyside Police were called to a flat in Kirkby just before midnight yesterday, Thursday, July 17.
It was reported a man had entered the flat and threatened two men with a handgun and then left. No firearm was discharged, and no one was injured in the incident, police said. Following enquiries, armed police attended an address in Kirkby this afternoon, Friday, July 18 and detained a man.
A 37-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary with intent and possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence. He is in police custody to be questioned.
Officers are currently searching the property for the suspected firearm. Photographs taken today show a number of armed police officers at the scene in Kirkby.
