Everton are ready to back David Moyes with ambitious summer transfer plans, according to Miguel Delaney of The Independent.

According to the report, Moyes is insistent on signing a right winger, an attacking midfielder, a central midfielder and a right back after having signed striker Thierno Barry and goalkeeper Mark Travers.

James McAtee of Manchester City is believed to be a priority, although they are expecting fierce competition from several top European clubs, most notably Eintracht Frankfurt.

“Other options for Everton are Juventus’ Douglas Luiz, Monaco’s Maghnes Akliouche and Freiburg’s Merlin Rohl in midfield, Real Sociedad’s Takefusa Kubo on the right, and Panathinaikos’ Georgios Vagiannidis for right-back,” the report added.

However, Vagiannidis is currently linked with a move to Sporting Lisbon, and the Portuguese club are believed to be leading the race to sign him.

Everton’s new owners have full faith in Moyes after the way he guided the Blues to 13th place in the league following his appointment in January, when the club were dangerously close to getting dragged into a relegation battle.

There’s a feeling that they are ready to make a major financial statement to usher in a new era at the Hill Dickinson Stadium after years of frustration and financial uncertainty.

Let’s hope the rumours above have a grain of truth about them. COYB!

We will only go and spend it on shite.

If it’s the case, then we should be signing top quality players.

I thought it was a question of how much we will be allowed to spend, not how much we have burning a hole?

So, we’re not after a left-back?

Somewhat undermines the credibility of this report, imo.

I don’t care how much we have to spend, I’m fed up of all the rumours. We are about 4 weeks away from starting the season, and we don’t have a bloody squad.

We need another 8 players at least to have a competitive squad. Get a move on, TFG!!!

Joe I suspect it will be to give the players a “feel” for the experience of playing in the new stadium before appearing in front of 50,000. Moyes has also said he wants a couple of training sessions there

John # 7……..the first team squad have already been training at HDS today. This was shown on a you tube video by Mr Drone about 2-3 hours ago, but it looks like for some reason that video has now been removed. I did manage to see it though.

My God the pessimism from some of you guys. It’s great speculating on who will or won’t be coming in. However, there is absolutely no reason (beyond impatience), why you should be ripping into the hierarchy, yet. Unless you have a direct line to the management of Everton, you don’t know what is going on behind the scenes. If it is a poor summer window when it closes, go ahead, I’ll even join in with you. But until then, let them do their job.

If we pull it off and managed to sign Luiz, McAtee, Kubo, a RB and a loan or two, I think we would be aiming for the Europa and Conference places. We’d suddenly have a really good squad.

I don’t expect us to bring in all of those aforementioned players though…It Everton lol.

The fact is no team is making big moves image transfer market outside the champions league places. In fact we’re probably one of if not the most active already. However these dithering bastards all need sacking. Even the ones who have only just joined the club. Disgrace.
