A diminutive Oasis fan has found the perfect spot for fans to stand if they are finding it difficult to view the stage. Menna Wakeford made the discovery after she was worried that her and her daughter wouldn’t be able to see anything.

The mum from North Wales posted about the spot on an Oasis fan page that has been running on Facebook since 2006. On her post, which has received hundreds of likes and comments, she marks out a place on the map, which appears to be just ahead of the valley, close to the food station and toilets, where a walkway gave them an extra boost.

In her post, Menna wrote: “We found a spot (red cross I’ve marked on map) with a perfect view over the stage, and we realised if we stood on the edge of the walkway we were able to add a couple of inches to our 5ft3/5ft heights!

“Also made navigating in and out super easy. The toilets by North gate were only a couple mins extra walk and we never queued.”

Menna’s post also gives big shout-outs to local pub, Northern Crafthouse, where she went for food, and praises the efficient transport system in and out of Heaton Park that allowed her and her daughter to get back onto the motorway by 11:30pm. She also went on to review the gig, describing it as ‘perfection’, she wrote: “The sound, the visuals, the crowd – all perfection. As others have said, if you have this to look forward to, I’m jealous – wish we could do it all again!”

Her post in full reads: “Heaton Park shorties (sharing in case helpful for others, I got so much info from this group that helped plan) –

“After reading stories on here of the park being a terrible venue and the stage being short I was worried about my daughter and I being able to see anything (GA tickets). Needn’t have worried!

“We came from North Wales, parked at Whitefield Tram park and ride for free. Popped to Northern Crafthouse for some grub (saw a post on here about free G&Ts when you show your tickets! Lovely staff, nice vibe).

“Jumped on the tram to Heaton Park, arrived around 4.30pm, straight into Valley Gate, no queue. Loads of space.

“Leaving the park was a slow but steady walk out of Valley gate. Heaton Park tram was closed, so 20 mins walk to Prestwich, trams every few mins, back to the car in Whitefield by 11.30pm and straight onto motorway.

Oasis are set to play the final two of their homecoming gigs in Manchester this weekend. In what has been a successful return to the stage for the band, the boys played their only mid week gig earlier this week on Wednesday, where they serenaded a reduced capacity of 50,000 compared to 80,000 that showed up for the opening gigs on Saturday (July 12) and Sunday (July 13).
