A man has been charged with drugs and weapons offences after a stop in Birmingham city centre and a raid at a home in a leafy suburb.
A man was stopped in the city centre by West Midlands Police’s Guardian taskforce, the youth violence and knife crime team.
He was arrested on suspicion of possession of drugs and a knife on Monday, April 14.

That stop prompted a search of a home in Forest Road in Moseley and there officers found more drugs which were seized.
Shaquano Taylor, of Forest Road, Moseley, has been charged with possession of an offensive weapon, possession of Class B drugs with intent to supply, acquiring criminal property, and assaulting a Pc.
The 23-year-old was remanded in custody to appear at Birmingham Magistrates’ Court today, Wednesday, April 16.
A police spokesperson said: “A man has been charged with drugs and weapons offences.
“While patrolling Birmingham city centre, officers from our Guardian Taskforce arrested a man on Monday (April 14), for being in possession of drugs and a knife.
“Further searches were carried out at an address in Forest Road, Moseley, where more drugs were found and seized.
“Shaquano Taylor has been charged with possession of an offensive weapon, possession of Class B drugs with intent to supply, acquiring criminal property, and assaulting a PC.
“The 23-year-old was remanded in custody to appear at Birmingham Magistrates Court today.

The statement continued: “Project Guardian has specialist taskforces based across the West Midlands, dedicated to tackling knife crime and youth violence.
“There is particular emphasis on reducing knife crime in under 25-year-olds, through a range of tactics from plain-clothed operations to high visibility patrols.
