The ABBA-inspired duo, Han Roberts and Fran Cottington, finished ninth in this year’s series of Britain’s Got Talent, having been called back on to the show for the final as a “wildcard” act.
The civil servants and best friends finished second in the public vote of their semi-final on May 24, but were called by a producer of the show to tell them they had been invited back for the final.
In the last week, they have made special trips to Ysgol Hen Golwyn (Colwyn Bay), Ysgol Ffordd Dyffryn, Ysgol San Sior, Ysgol Tudno, Ysgol Craig-y-Don and Ysgol John Bright.
The Pioneer joined Han & Fran at Ysgol San Sior on Friday (July 18), where they taught pupils dance routines, and sang ABBA classics Mamma Mia, Voulez-Vous and Dancing Queen with them.
Pupils also got the chance to take part in a Q&A with Han & Fran, asking questions such as what it was like to meet KSI on Britain’s Got Talent, how they met and became friends, and they favourite colours and crisp flavours.
Han & Fran are also starring as the wicked stepsisters in the Cinderella pantomime at Llandudno’s Venue Cymru this Christmas, and are planning more school visits during the holiday season.
Fran said: “The reason we’ve been doing the school visits is that the local community supported us so much.
“This was the best way for us to say thank you for how much they’ve supported us, through Britain’s Got Talent and beyond.”
Han added: “I think it’s important to let the kids know they should follow their dreams, and that it’s never too late. You can always make it, no matter where you come from.”
Han & Fran’s Britain’s Got Talent final performance earned them a standing ovation from all four judges, with Amanda Holden hailing them as “one of my favourite acts of all-time on Britain’s Got Talent”.
