Police are hunting for three masked men who ransacked a Bangor home on Wednesday night.

The PSNI said the men gained entry to the home by smashing the door in with a hammer.

During the burglary, one of the men kept the victim in a room as the other two ransacked the house and took off with valuables.

Detective Sergeant McCartan said: “We received a report at approximately 9:40pm on Wednesday, 16th April that a house had been entered by three masked men and valuables had been stolen in the Ballycrochan Avenue area.

“We believe the house was entered approximately between 9:10pm and 9:30pm on Wednesday. These men smashed a door with a hammer to gain entry, one has kept the victim in a room while two others have ransacked the house and stolen valuables.

“We believe a silver coloured Volkswagen Golf was in the area at the time and appeal to anyone who saw this car or noticed any suspicious activity this area on Wednesday between 2100hrs and 2140hrs and noticed anything suspicious to make contact with us on 101, quoting reference 1716 of 16/04/25.

“We would also be especially keen to hear from anyone who may have dash-cam, CCTV or mobile footage of the areas during these times that we could review.”
