Wimbledon 2025 saw two players become the first from their country in history to hoist the singles trophy aloft on Centre Court.
Jannik Sinner defeated Carlos Alcaraz in four sets to clinch a maiden title at the All England Club, and is now the only Italian ever to do so.
On the women’s side, Iga Swiatek of Poland dominated Amanda Anisimova in the final, 6-0, 6-0 to complete the Surface Slam at the age of 24.
Following their triumphs, the two stars attended the traditional Wimbledon champions dinner, which former American player Sam Querrey detailed in full.

On the ‘Nothing Major’ podcast, Querrey said: “It’s in the city. At that hour, there is no traffic, so it’s like 25 minutes. They have a cocktail party, and then you go down to the dinner, where it’s set up beautifully.
“Laura Robson hosted, and she went up and gave a speech. You have some appetisers, and then Iga showed up at 10:30 pm.
“She came in, and you stand up. They made this cool video up on the Jumbotron. She holds up her trophy, and then you sit down.
“Sinner came at 00:05. I did not care, but he was just in the back hammering drinks with his team, having a good time.
“He came out with the trophy, and at some point, Laura Robson brought them both on stage. She does a Q&A with Iga and Jannik pretty quickly.

“And there was a rumour they were not going to have to dance, and the crowd peer pressured them into dancing.
“It was good, though. Jannik did a good job; he was feeling good and made it really fun. He started twirling Iga, and then 45 seconds in, they were done dancing and went back to the table.
“You had unbelievable food, wine, and then at 1 am, my wife and I were like, we have to go. We had a flight that day.
“It was a cool thing to be a part of. I had never known what it was like, but it was nice. I think I would go again, but I don’t know. It’s one of those things, it’s late, and it’s a great event that you want to do one time, unless you are winning the tournament.”
Jannik Sinner and Iga Swiatek’s major tallies after Wimbledon
With Sinner and Swiatek picking up their first Wimbledon titles, both are just one trophy away from the career Grand Slam.
The Pole now has six major titles to her name, including four French Open crowns, three of which she won consecutively from 2022 to 2024.
Just the Australian Open eludes Swiatek, having made the semi-finals in Melbourne twice before.
Sinner, on the other hand, is now up to four Grand Slam titles and just needs to win the French Open to complete the feat, which he came agonisingly close to doing this season.
