A Welsh police force has issued a statement to “dispel rumours’ about a hotel. South Wales Police shared the post following concerns circulating on social media about the former Gordon Hotel in Gelli, Pentre.
According to the force the rumours appear to have stemmed from “misunderstandings about who is staying there”. In an attempt to mitigate the rumours a police spokesman said the hotel’s current residents are “contracted construction workers” who are working on projects in Pontypridd.
The spokesman shared: “We are aware of concerns circulating on social media surrounding the former Gordon Hotel in Gelli, Pentre, which appear to stem from misunderstandings about who is staying there.
“To mitigate further speculation we can confirm that the current residents are contracted construction workers supporting local infrastructure in Pontypridd.”
