A woman’s body was tragically pulled from a Birmingham canal this morning.

Police were called to a canal off Kings Road in Tyseley at around 7am on Saturday, July 19.

Tragically, a woman’s body was pulled from the water.

West Midlands Police said it was not treating her death as suspicious.

A file was being prepared for the coroner.

A police cordon was in place for several hours on the canal towpath following the sad discovery.

Both entrances to the canal were sealed off, an eyewitness said.

We understand the cordon has since been lifted.

A West Midlands Police spokesperson told BirminghamLive: “We were called following reports of a body in a canal in Kings Road, Tyseley, at around 7am today.

“Sadly, the body of a woman was found.

“Her death is not being treated as suspicious. A file is being prepared for the coroner.”
