The CEO of Astronomer, whose embrace with a co-worker during a Coldplay concert kiss cam went viral, has tendered his resignation.
Tech firm chief executive Andy Byron and a colleague went viral after a video from a Coldplay concert in Boston on 16 July showed them arm in arm during a crowd kiss cam.
As soon as the pair realised that they were being projected to the entire Gillette Stadium, they ducked out of frame in an effort to hide from the camera.
Lead singer Chris Martin said the pair were either “very shy” or “having an affair”.
The video went viral across social media following the concert, revealing that the pair were married to other people and both worked at the same company, Astronomer.
Mr Byron’s company, Astronomer, previously said it had launched an investigation into the matter.
Posting to social media site X today, Astronomer said in a statement: “Andy Byron has tendered his resignation, and the Board of Directors has accepted.”
“Our leaders are expected to set the standard in both conduct and accountability, and recently, that standard was not met,” it said.
Astronomer’s board said it will now begin a search for its next CEO.
Astronomer added: “While awareness of our company may have changed overnight, our product and our work for our customers have not.”
