Greater Manchester has been hit with a weather warning by the Met Office.
The yellow weather warning for rain covers the north west of England today (July 20).
The warning is in place between 11am this morning and 10pm this evening.

The forecaster is warning people to expect ‘showery rain, heavy and perhaps thundery’.
The weather ‘may cause some localised surface water flooding on Sunday’, added the Met Office warning, saying that the ‘flooding of a few homes and businesses is likely’.
The body has told people to expect disruption, including bus and train services being affected, and journey times taking longer.
The Met Office has also advised that spray and flooding on roads might make journey times longer.
There may be ‘some interruption to power supplies and other services likely’.
The forecaster said: “Showery outbreaks of rain, heavy and perhaps thundery in places, will move northwestwards from late Sunday morning and through the afternoon before gradually easing during the evening.
“Accumulations of 10-20 mm are expected fairly widely, with a few places potentially receiving as much as 40 mm, much of this falling in just a few hours. This could lead to some surface water flooding.”

The Met Office issued advice alongside the warning, saying: “Check if your property could be at risk of flooding. If so, consider preparing a flood plan and an emergency flood kit.
“Give yourself the best chance of avoiding delays by checking road conditions if driving, or bus and train timetables, amending your travel plans if necessary.
“People cope better with power cuts when they have prepared for them in advance. It’s easy to do; consider gathering torches and batteries, a mobile phone power pack and other essential items.
“Be prepared for weather warnings to change quickly: when a weather warning is issued, the Met Office recommends staying up to date with the weather forecast in your area.”
A separate weather warning for thunderstorms is also in place for Monday (July 21), covering large sections of the UK including Greater Manchester.
The new yellow warning comes into effect on Monday (July 21) at 11am and will stay in place until 9pm that night.

Issuing the warning, the Met Office said: “Scattered heavy showers and thunderstorms are expected during Monday, especially during the afternoon and early evening.
“While many will miss the worst conditions, a few places could see 30-50 mm of rain within a couple of hours.
“Heavy downpours of rain will be the primary hazard but lightning strikes are also likely along with the potential for hail.”
