Leeds United have been tipped to complete their stadium redevelopment project without any problems.
Elland Road is set for a massive expansion over the next few years, with the Yorkshire club hoping to boost the capacity of their home from 37,890 to 56,500.
The West Stand and North Stand are both expected to be revamped, and work could begin on the build as early as the beginning of 2026.
Leeds have now formally submitted plans to the city council, with a decision on the application coming sometime in October.
Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – believes that the club will have no problem getting the stadium expansion approved.

Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, Wyness insisted that Leeds will suffer “zero issues” with their expansion of Elland Road.

The Whites are currently owned by 49ers Enterprises, who recently acquired a controlling stake in Scottish giants Rangers.
Wyness added that the Leeds owners have the funds to be able to turn Elland Road into a showpiece stadium again.
He told Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast: “I think in the consultation process, when I looked at it, it’s something like 98 % approvals that sail through. The council’s right behind Leeds United in doing this.
“If you’ve been up there at all, then you’ll know that Elland Road’s on the way into Leeds. It’s a great regional development tool for Leeds as well.
“It’s a great city, Leeds, I love going there and it’s just something that I think will go well because the council are right behind it. They’ve got great owners with the pockets to be able to do this. I expect zero hitches in terms of getting Elland Road back into being a showpiece stadium again. I’m pleased for them.”

Meanwhile, Leeds are reportedly considering a move to sign Chelsea left-back Ben Chilwell and are keeping a close eye on his situation at Stamford Bridge.
That is according to former Man United and Blackburn chief scout Mick Brown, who claims that Daniel Farke is keen to bring Premier League experience into his side.
This comes despite the £10million signing of Lille left-back Gabriel Gudmundsson, as Farke aims to add further strength in depth to his back line.
Brown told Football Insider on 15 July that Premier League clubs want to sign Chilwell, with all parties keen on a departure from Chelsea this summer.
