Life on Liverpool’s high streets has changed a lot throughout the decades, and today, we still continue to welcome new businesses—as well as say goodbye to a number of staples. More recently, retailers and big brands have had their own challenges, from online rivals to higher inflation and other trading conditions.
This has meant we’ve said goodbye to a number of famous names that have welcomed generations. When it comes to other well-known shops and department stores, some are only remembered by people of a certain age and have been closed for years.
Others have been acquired by other companies and still exist online after closing their physical sites. But shoppers past and present still reminisce about some of the great brands from years gone by.
