Nick Kyrgios has endured many setbacks in his tennis career in the past three years.
Kyrgios returned to the ATP Tour at the Brisbane International in January, after playing just one match in 27 months.
However, the former Wimbledon finalist has not been able to play regularly, with Kyrgios withdrawing from Wimbledon and the entire grass court season.

Kyrgios has struggled with knee, foot and wrist injuries over the past three years, undergoing as many surgeries in that time.
The Australian has been very honest about his future in the sport, with Kyrgios admitting he will retire in the near future.
Before that point, Kyrgios was set to play at the Washington Open, where he is a two-time singles and one-time doubles champion.

The 30-year-old was supposed to play both events once again, with Kyrgios partnering alongside Gael Monfils in doubles.
However, after the draw was released for the Washington Open this year, Kyrgios only appeared in the doubles event and has now withdrawn from singles.
Kyrgios and Monfils have not been handed an easy first round draw in doubles either, coming up against third seeds Hugo Nys and Edouard Roger-Vasselin.
What are Nick Kyrgios’ plans for the US Open hard court swing?
This is a concerning sign for Kyrgios ahead of the US Open, which he has entered in a bid to make his first Grand Slam appearance since his first round loss at the Australian Open earlier this year.
Kyrgios achieved his best result at the US Open in 2022, when he reached the quarterfinals.
Before his scheduled appearance at the New York major, Kyrgios has also entered the Masters 1000 tournament in Cincinnati, where he finished as a runner-up to Grigor Dimitrov in 2017.
Kyrgios will be hoping to come out of the Washington Open unscathed fitness-wise, as he looks to build up to a return to the singles court.
The main draw of the doubles event in Washington begins on Monday, July 21.
