Leeds United’s new away kit for their Premier League campaign was worn for the first time in their pre-season fixture against rivals Manchester United in Stockholm.
Adidas have been producing the Whites’ shirts since the 2020/21 campaign, and despite coming under criticism for Leeds’ new home shirt ahead of the new season, the away kit has been positively received by the fanbase.
The partnership between Leeds and Adidas was extended back in October of 2024, with hopefully many more iconic kits on the horizon for the Elland Road faithful to look forward to.
With that in mind, MOT Leeds News look back at some of the best away kits to have been donned by United over the years.

Despite this shirt only being worn by Farke’s side last season, it had to make the list.
At long last, yellow made a return for Leeds’ away kit alongside the iconic ‘smiley’ badge.
After previous doubts from Leeds’ hierarchy about how well a yellow shirt would sell, those fears were quickly put to bed by the supporters.
A record-breaking launch in which 15,000 shirts were sold on the first day alone, proving the demand for yellow kits in West Yorkshire was stronger than ever.
To top it off, Leeds won promotion back to the Premier League in the beloved shirt with Manor Solomon and Co. ensuring it will always be remembered by the fans.

Upon United’s return to the top-flight under Marcelo Bielsa, Adidas released an away kit that was a throwback to the one made famous by Tony Yeboah back in 1994.
It was an unexpected move by Adidas to bring this look back for Leeds, but one that was executed fantastically.
The kit featured the distinct navy and green stripes of old, with a gold Adidas trim to modernise the shirt.
Patrick Bamford’s hat-trick against Aston Villa at Villa Park is one of the most memorable moments in this shirt as Leeds upset the odds and finished 9th in their first season back in the Premier League.

The kits produced by Puma with the Packard Bell sponsor are some of the most popular retro shirts that are still worn with pride by the Leeds fanbase to this day.
While the away shirt was technically the light blue one, with the navy stripe featuring across the chest, it is the alternate yellow and blue third kit that is particularly brilliant.
The shirt, worn by legends such as Lucas Radebe, was primarily yellow, but featured the same stripe across the chest, but this one was more of a royal blue shade.
The white trim capped off what is another fantastic shirt that was worn as Leeds finished third in the Premier League.

Due to the success of Howard Wilkinson’s side on the pitch as Leeds won the First Division, the shirts worn in that unforgettable season would have been immortalised regardless of their appearance.
The yellow away shirt from that season, however, is arguably the best away top in the club’s history.
Umbro produced what can only be described as a masterpiece, as the White Rose version of the Leeds badge featured alongside the popular Yorkshire Evening Post sponsor, as Wilkinson’s side proved they were the best team in the country.

The list would not be complete without mentioning the beloved Nike kits that were sponsored by Strongbow.
The yellow away shirt and the blue third kits were both exceptional, but the blue one with the yellow trim is the real eye-catcher
The shirt, made famous by the likes of Mark Viduka, is the one which the current 2025/26 away kit has taken inspiration from.
The Nike kits in this era were works of art, as Leeds reached the semi-final of the UEFA Champions League in 2002.
