Ghost Recon First-Person

Ubisoft really is making a first-person Ghost Recon title, as has only been rumoured up until this point.

It’s not like many people were actively questioning said rumours, but this is still official confirmation from the publisher itself.

During its latest shareholders meeting (as per Game File), company CEO Yves Guillemot spoke of “capitalising on upcoming launches, such as The Division and Ghost Recon”.

Again, the announcement of a new Ghost Recon game is yet to happen — but here it is getting namedropped by Ubisoft’s boss.

CFO Frederick Duguet went on to explain that the project will benefit from Chinese juggernaut Tencent’s investment, as a “major brand name”.

“Ghost Recon is just one example, for our first-person-shooter-type-games,” Duguet reveals.

So there you have it, the previous reports were indeed accurate — and now it’s just a question of when the title will be unveiled.

According to those aforementioned reports, this new Ghost Recon is looking to be a tactical, more ‘realistic’ military shooter experience. Last we heard, it’s targeting a 2026 release.

When do you think this thing’s getting an official announcement? Squad up in the comments section below.

He still takes his fighting games seriously, but RPGs are his true passion. The Witcher, Persona, Dragon Quest, Mass Effect, Final Fantasy, Trails, Tales — he’s played ’em all. A little too much, some might say.
