The cricketing duo who have broken records in different eras of the game were at the MyLahore restaurant in Whitebirk recently.
Housed within one of Blackburn’s oldest buildings, the Whitebirk location opened in 2022 after a careful restoration of the historic former pub.
It now draws diners from across Lancashire and beyond.
Shahid Afridi, 48, was joined by his son-in-law, left-arm paceman Shaheen, 25.
Shahid, nicknamed Boom Boom for his big hitting, was in the UK ahead of the World Championship of Legends tournament which features India, Pakistan, England, Australia, South Africa, and the West Indies, and is being held at Edgbaston, Headlingley, The County Ground in Northampton, and Leicester’s Uptonsteel.
Both players were also joined by Lord Wajid Khan of Burnley during the visit.
Shahid Afridi was full of praise for his dining experience, calling MyLahore ‘one of the best Asian family restaurants’, and singled out the signature Nihari as a personal favourite.
He said: “I absolutely loved the Nihari; rich, authentic, and full of flavour.
“MyLahore is one of the best Asian family restaurants I’ve been to. It feels like home.”

A spokesperson for the restaurant said: “The restaurant was packed with joy, laughter, and community spirit, a true celebration of food, family, and fandom.
“It was a proud moment for Blackburn and another milestone in MyLahore’s journey as a beloved destination for British Asian dining.”
Shaheen Shah Afridi last played in England in May 2024 during Pakistan’s Twenty20 series against England. He was not selected for this year’s iteration of The Hundred tournament, having last featured in 2023 for Welsh Fire.
