Owen Farrell may be rugby royalty with his dad Andy coaching the Lions, but off the pitch, he’s scored big with his wife Georgie Lyon — the real MVP in the Farrell family scrum.

As he prepares to captain the British & Irish Lions for the first time, we take a peek into the life of the woman who’s been cheering him on from the sidelines (quietly, mind you).

GEORGIE WHO?

If you’re trying to find Georgie Lyon on Instagram, good luck. She’s as low-key as Owen’s goal celebrations. Despite her ultra-private profile, Georgie’s been spotted at plenty of Owen’s matches over the years.

The couple have been an item for yonks, and while she stays under the radar, it’s believed she works in event planning for charities – organising things while Owen organises backlines.

THE BIG DAY? SOME MIGHT SAY IT WAS A HIT 🎤

The pair got engaged in 2017 and made it official the following year in a ceremony that sounds like a proper knees-up.

On the night, Owen and dad Andy jumped on the mic for a duet of Some Might Say by Oasis. Yes, really.

Georgie turned heads in a stunning white gown with off-the-shoulder sleeves and her blonde hair in an elegant up-do. No rucks or mauls – just romance.

WELCOME TO TEAM FARRELL

Owen and Georgie became parents to Tommy in 2019, and Freddie followed in March 2021. Fun fact: Georgie went into labour with Tommy the night before a Saracens match.

Saracens boss Mark McCall explained:

“Owen’s wife went into labour on Friday night… He phoned me at half past two saying ‘in the next half hour’… I said ‘Owen, the game starts at quarter past three!’”

Priorities, eh?

A FAMILY AFFAIR ON THE PITCH

Tommy and Freddie aren’t just mascots – they’re practically part of the squad.

During the Six Nations Grand Slam decider in 2022, the boys joined their dad on the pitch at the Aviva Stadium. Little Tommy even rocked an Ireland jersey, which raised a few eyebrows.

Owen recalled:

“I asked him why he has got one. He said, ‘It’s grandad’s team’ and I said ‘well, you can wear a suit like grandad does, then, not the kit.’”

Brutal, but fair.

IN SUMMARY: THE UNSUNG HERO

While Owen Farrell dominates headlines and defensive lines, Georgie Lyon is the calm presence keeping the Farrell household ticking.

She may not be the type to post selfies or stories, but behind every great rugby man… there’s a Georgie keeping it classy.

Mimi Fall – The new Mrs Itoje (Maro Itoje)

The Lions captain has officially hung up his bachelor boots after tying the knot with long-time partner Mimi Fall – just weeks before the tour kicks off.

The towering second-row proposed during a sun-soaked getaway to Nigeria and Ghana in August 2024, popping the question at a dreamy waterside resort in Ada, just outside Accra. “It was a beautiful resort,” Maro told the Daily Mail. “I popped the question there.” Job done.

Mimi confirmed the engagement with a sparkling Instagram reveal, flashing the rock and writing: “Mrs I to be.” Cue the collective swoon.

Fast forward to May 25, and the couple sealed the deal with a stylish ceremony in London’s swanky Mayfair. The snaps say it all – pure class, serious suits, and big smiles all round.

Sharing the news online, Maro wrote:
“Scripture says it is not good for man to be alone… I am no longer alone. I HAVE A WIFE. To God be the Glory!!!!”

Meg – Keeps herself out of the spotlight (Ellis Genge)

Nancy Neath – Design Star with an Eye for Decor (Will Stuart)

Prop Will Stuart’s girlfriend Nancy Neath is a creative talent in her own right, running a successful table and floral design business that’s got serious aesthetic game.

The couple moved in together in 2023, though not without hiccups. Will revealed: “My girlfriend chose a new mattress — it’s too soft. I’ve ended up on the floor a few times tucked in a duvet.” Rugby tackles are rough, but love is tougher.

Gracie Hand – The long-term couple (Fin Smith)

Student Gracie tends to keep her private life low-key, but Fin posts adorable selfies of them together, sharing glimpses of their relationship with his followers.

Michelle Daly – From School Romance to Family Life (Elliot Daly)

Elliot Daly married longtime love Michelle in 2021 after years together and one perfectly timed proposal. The pair have now welcomed a daughter, Orla, born in July 2024.

Elliot summed it up sweetly on their anniversary: “One month ago today, I got to marry my soulmate. 10 years of knowing each other, 4 years engaged, and now finally married. My Wife.”
They’ve gone from teenage sweethearts to one of England rugby’s power couples.
