Registered Nurses, Retail Salespersons, and Supervisors of Retail Sales Workers, are the Top Jobs in JUNE
MONTGOMERY - Data collected and analyzed by the Alabama Department of Workforce’s Labor Market Information (LMI) Division shows that in June 2025, there were 85,681 job ads posted in Alabama, representing a monthly increase of 2.8%.
The five occupations with the most online job ads are for Registered Nurses, Retail Salespersons, Supervisors of Retail Sales Workers, Heavy and Tractor-Trailer Truck Drivers, and Customer Service Representatives with 13,894 ads placed for those occupations in June.
The HWOL data is compiled from all online job postings in the state, including those posted on the state’s free online jobs database, AlabamaWorks.alabama.gov, and other sources, such as traditional job boards, corporate boards, and social media sites.
In June 2025, there were 29,916 total job ads with salaries, including 8,664 jobs ads with salaries of $70,000 and above; 8,029 jobs ads with salaries in the $35-49,000 range; 5,034 jobs ads with salaries in the $50-69,000 range, and 7,919 jobs ads with salaries less than $35,000.
The top two employers posting the most online ads in June 2025 were Huntsville Hospital with 1,123 ads and Walmart with 991 ads. The rest of the top 10 were: Domino’s Pizza (948), UAB Medicine (701), University of Alabama at Birmingham (637),Taco Bell (607), AutoZone (453), Baptist Health (428), The University of Alabama (401) and Circle K with 400 ads.
This month’s HWOL Occupation Focus is Physical therapist Assistants .Those employed in this occupation Assist physical therapists in providing physical therapy treatments and procedures. Employees may also assist in the development of treatment plans, carry out routine functions, document the progress of treatment, and modify specific treatments in accordance with patient status and within the scope of treatment plans established by a physical therapist. Typically, employees in these occupations need an associate’s degree. Additionally, employees need a license through the Alabama Board of Physical Therapy. The advertised median salary for Physical Therapy Assistants in Alabama is $59,264. This occupation has 380 Annual Total Openings in Alabama.
